The Responsibility of Time

Today, I sold my comic book collection, a collection I had been building since the 1970s. It wasn’t easy. Some of those books had been with me for most of my life.

There are seasons when sentiment must yield to responsibility. California is an expensive place to live, and when times become difficult, you make the necessary sacrifices without complaint.

My kids were saddened because they knew what those books meant to me. Them understanding my pain, gave me hope. After that I knew I fulfilled my responsibility as a father then, and I will continue to fulfill it now. Possessions come and go. Duty remains.

You do what needs to be done.
