Was today typical?
Today started typical, got up, made coffee, had pastry with my coffee, read a new book, made lunch, got ready for work and headed there on my motorcycle.
As I was heading to work, a truck crossed my lane to turn down a side street and me and my motorcycle crashed into the front passenger’s quarter. My left forearm hit the windshield and spiderwebbed it as I flew over the front of the truck.

It happened so fast. I was laying on my back looking up at the sky. I was alive. People gathered around to help and call a rescue. My right leg from the knee down was in extreme pain.
The fire truck showed up first and the guys were great. The police arrived and they were also great. Then the rescue and paramedics came and took good care of me. I was given something for my pain.
I was taken to the hospital and went through what every trauma patient goes through. Seemed like thirty people had their hands on me. From cutting off my clothing to moving me and asking questions.

I was then rolled into the hallway and taken for a battery of scans, X-ray’s and tests. My knee which took the worst of it was very swollen and the pain felt like it was about to pop. Anytime they moved the gurney, the pain would intensify to a point that was unbearable.

The pain was the most intense I have ever felt. I’m writing this to try and take my mind off it, while I wait for some pain relief.
I understand that in today’s opioid climate, they want to wait to give the pain medication needed because the pharmaceutical companies feed the businesses of addiction. But my pain was real and fierce. Hopefully, it’s not as intense later.
After ten hours in the ER, I got a burger and went home.
So to answer the question, was today typical?, I would have to say no.
